The Commissioning Coordinator Project Manager will be responsible for managing the overall direction, completion, and budget of each assigned project. This position will require a significant amount of travel throughout the United States.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assists in the development of commissioning plans
  • Assists in engineering design reviews
  • Interacts with contractors, interprets design and specifications
  • Conducts on site observation surveys and prepares field reports on the status of projects and completion of projects with respect to compliance to the plans and specifications
  • Prepares punch list reports and determines corrective measures for on-site problems
  • Prepares general condition survey reports
  • Familiarizes oneself with codes, local project regulations, construction practices and the latest equipment functional concepts
  • Familiarizes oneself and obeys all the projects safety requirements including specific onsite regulations
  • Reviews shop drawings and submittals
  • Ensure site specific information and layouts are consistent with service operations requirements
  • Verify that the site asset data (e.g. switchgear, power cabinets, dispensers) provided by site electricians are valid and complete
  • Manage multiple projects and the development of each from beginning to end
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Manage every aspect of the development process including consultants, general contractors, vendors, specialty contractors, budgets, internal departments, and developers
  • Familiar knowledge of construction components, process, and methodologies
  • Manage each phase of the project including entitlement, design, permitting, bidding, contracting, construction, store start up, store turnover, and project close out
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Familiar with contract administration and change order review
  • Quality control and assurance
  • Budget development, forecasting, and management
  • Web based project management
  • Provide direction and support to the project team
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions
  • Manage day-to-day activities for program sourcing and logistic requirements
  • Expedite purchase orders to vendors working with internal client teams
  • Manage delivery schedules and translate store requirements to available inventory
  • Coordinate & communicate activities and schedules with all vendors and internal BV team
  • Manage inbound logistics and tracking process from Material Supplier to Distribution Center to Store
  • Alert internal client team of lost or missing material items; monitor and drive sourcing issues to timely resolution
  • Required to climb ladders during onsites to gain roof access.
  • Ability to travel, on average, approximately 50% of time to client sites across the U.S. via plane and driving. Overnight stays away from home may be required.
  • Due to the possession of special skills or experience, may be assigned to perform various types of services such as, but not limited to: facility condition assessments, structural, mechanical, civil, or environmental surveys; pre-construction document reviews; construction monitoring; desk reviews; report reviews; or document review. This position may also be assigned to provide training programs.
  • Enhances professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying new and existing legislation; anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary action.
  • Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to clients needs.
  • Demonstrates BV's guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.
  • Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV's quality standards.
  • Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Ability to work from remote location.
  • Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering preferred with a minimum of 3 years

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

  • Strong consideration will be given to those that are PMP and LEED certified
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000 required.

 

Other Qualifications 

  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service.
  • Must be able to work from Reston, VA corporate office
  • Occasional weekend travel required.
  • Ability to travel, on average, approximately 50% of time to client sites across the U.S. via plane and driving. Overnight stays away from home may be required.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with BV employees and customers
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to use and skillfully operate an electronic tablet efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role.
